Tutorial: How to Sell Games

Most of us do not well-know how to sell games because of not having enough guides to sell games. So, if someone wants to sell games, there are a couple of questions needed to ask themselves: Where do I sell games? How to sell them? and How much do I want to sell games for? To answer these questions above, we will make the process faster and easier to find out market in order to sell games. And we do hope that these guides to sell games might be useful. Therefore, at least there are three tutorials how to sell games as shareware:

1. Make the Game Itself

The first step to sell games easily is to make interesting game and new version because some competitors try to dominate market to sell games. It means that everyone is demanded to be more creative. Honestly, if you have update games of course some virtual buyers are going to order. And sell games is depend on the quality, you have to avoid piracy way as well. To sell games, you can set up the price with you self.

2. Make the Website

The second step to sell games is to make website for spreading out some market in order to introduce to virtual buyers. There are a lot of places to sell games to virtual buyers, virtual buyer, like: Ebay, Amazon. To sell games through website is much better than traditional way. However you have to know how to create website to sell games. Creating the website itself can be done from scratch (using html, css, etc.) or you can use a free content management system like Drupal (which is what I use). Just make sure the theme you use is free for commercial use (many of them specify that you can't use the theme for commercial sites). Or you can make your own theme by starting with one and editing its css. And you can make your site simple: just some screenshots, a description, and a link to the buy page, and your email; or you can make it ornate, with trailers, forums, a blog, a newsletter, links to reviews of the game, a soundtrack page, a page for modes, and so on. That's up to you. I've seen both methods work. Many sell games way better than mine and don't have forums or a blog or anything.

3. Use an E-Commerce Service Provider

The last step you should follow to sell games sold out is to need some tools to promote sell games in the global market. Hence, one of thing to introduce sell games easily is e-commerce. We are sure that sell games through e-commerce service provider like BMT-Micro (which I use), Plimus, or eSellerate will be got lots orders. These are very simple to use, you just register, put sell games on there, upload the full version of your game to it, choose its price, and it gives you a link to their shopping cart. They take around 10%, but process credit cards and automatically send the game to someone when they buy it. Important to note is that e-commerce services do not require any upfront money, they only take a small percent, so you can start one up at no cost.
